Music has a unique way of touching many different lives. The power and majesty of God, the loving and forgiving Savior, and the gentle and inspiring Holy Spirit are manifested in hymns and spiritual songs.
The music ministry at FUMC is very strong and offers many opportunities for everyone to find a place. Participating in the music ministry is a way that one can serve their church. There are several different choirs for all ages. These groups meet in the Beulah K. Flowers Music Suite located on the third floor in room #300.
Adult Chancel Choir - This choir meets each Wednesday night at 7:00 pm. They perform a wide variety of music. Several members participate in sextets, ensembles, trios and solos. The Choir participates in the 10:55 am worship services of the Church and in special services throughout the year.
Singspirations Choir - This senior adult choir meets every other Thursday mornings at 9:30 am, September through May. This group performs for the residents of the Dugan Memorial Nursing Home several times throughout the year.
Handbell Choir - This choir meets on Wednesdays at 5:45 pm. They perform in the 10:55 am worship service at least quarterly.
Children’s Music - The Joyful Noise Choir is for children PreK through 1st grade. They meet on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 to 4:30 September thru April. The Jammin' for Jesus Choir is for children 2nd through 6th grades. They meet on Sunday afternoons from 5:15 - 6:00 PM September through April.
Judy Staggers is the Director of Music. Polly Grimes is the organist, Pat Ausborn is the pianist, and Nina Millard is the Children’s Choir assistant.
